Temperature and humidity mapping – protecting your products and saving you money

The temperature in a room is never constant, nor is it the same throughout. This means in rooms where temperature plays an important part, like in storage warehouses, it is important to keep track of fluctuations in temperature. An unsuitable temperature can cause products to spoil, which in turn can cost a company a lot of money.

A way around this problem is to map the temperature and humidity of your warehouse. This will enable you to determine how many different temperature zones there are in your warehouse, so that you can then install monitoring systems in each of these areas. The temperature in a room can vary up to 10°C in different areas, so it is important that all areas are monitored.

Changes in temperature can be caused by a variety of factors, including body heat from people present in the warehouse, doors being opened, fans, air conditioning and heating systems, and external conditions such as weather changes. Temperature and humidity mapping will ensure that all fluctuations in temperature are taken into account, so that you know which areas are affected most, and you can identify the best areas in which to store your products.

Some areas will fluctuate in temperature more than others. For example, the corners of a room and areas near doors and windows will be more affected by external conditions than the centre of a room. These are the main areas where temperature needs to be monitored. Temperature and humidity mapping is an incredibly useful and important process because it will lead to a huge reduction in the risk of products perishing, which means your company will not have to deal with any unnecessary expenses.
